- Event History -
The epic rivalry between Outlaw Pro Mods and Outlaw Fuel Altereds dates back to 2002, previously named the Pro Mod -vs- Fuel Altered Challenge, when the two lined up side by side for the first time at Lone Star Raceway Park in Sealy, Texas. We are unsure of who owned the track at that time, but the concept is certainly credited to them!

Frankie "The Mad Man" Taylor took home the win at the inaugural event over Mitch King, who ran a 4.19 at 136 mph crossing the centerline and giving the win to Taylor who had a window full of header flames and wisely shutoff, costing to a 4.68. In 2003, the groups returned for more heads up action as the rivalry continued in Sealy. Taylor repeated with another win, this time over Larry Reep. Reep was off the line first, but his transmission failed, while Taylor pedaled to a 4.63 at 153 mph to Reep’s 5.01 at 106 mph. For reasons unknown, the event at Lone Star Raceway was not repeated after 2003.

Outlaw Fuel Altered media director and series photographer Chris Graves was in attendance at both events in Sealy. Starting in 2008, Graves began knocking on the doors of multiple tracks across the Southwest proposing the idea as an annual headlining event, with the vision of bringing this trilling heads up outlaw showcase of crowd favorite pro mods and fuel altereds back to life. The revival finally came in 2013 after a ten year hiatus, as Graves successfully brought this battle back to life in accord with NSD. The event has since proved itself year after year as one of the top drag racing attractions in the Southwest.

The biggest and baddest drag race of the summer in North Texas continues as the '8th Annual' edition marks the event's third host facility and debut at Xtreme Raceway Park in Ferris, Texas! See the best of the best in Outlaw Pro Mod and Outlaw Fuel Altered drag racing do battle heads up and side by side! Friday & Saturday, June 26-27th!
